St Vlas Village Guide

"Your guide to a village that you simply must not miss"

This is a village that you simply must go and visit while you are in Bulgaria. It is commonly known as st vlas and it would be easy to drive straight through the village and miss it. Mainly because the best bits of the village are hidden up the hill and behind a network of houses.

To get to the village square and all the great and varied restaurants and shops you need to first find the Sky Hotel and bus stop which is on the left hand side just yards from the pedestrian crossing.

Walk up the steep hill and you start to enter one of the many picturesque villages in Bulgaria. There are many very good restaurants to eat in if you turn left or right at the crossroads but the better part of the village is fund if you turn left. Many clothes and shoe shops, gift shops, leather goods and bags, the most lovely cake shop you will ever have the pleasure to visit.

There is also an international phone booth shop for cheaper phone calls to the UK. Further down the road and you will be spoilt for choice as to where to eat - Visit this village every day for a week and you will still have restaurants to visit.

Fashion in Bulgaria is a must for buying beautiful shoes and clothing that you can't buy over here in the UK especially at the very low prices.

Once you have walked all the way to the top of the hill you will see the newly revamped village square, lots of seating and a small garden to sit and take in all the vibrance of village life.

If you take the road opposite the bus stop/pedestrian crossing then you can make your way down to the beach and the marina - the marina is absolutely stunning. Although expensive to eat at the marina it is well worth a visit just to marvel at all the yachts and prestige cars. The beach (in my opinion) is the very best in Bulgaria, it still has the lovely fine sand, but if you want a quieter place than Sunny Beach then this is the place to be. It has a beach bar which offers good value and the beach is well served by lifeguards during the summer months. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available from the on the beach for just £2 a day (prices correct at 2007). You can still enjoy the beach without buying a lounger and there is space to the side of the lounger allocated area. You can also eat and use the majority of the other hotel amenities in the denivi complexes for a small fee.
